Houthis launch Sixth Attack on US Aircraft Carrier since its deployment in the Red Sea
On 15 January, Houthi forces announced their sixth attack targeting the US Carrier Strike Group consisting of nine warships headed by the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman. According to Houthi spokesman, Yahya Saree, an unspecified number of winged missiles and drones were launched towards the carrier and its associated strike group.
Open-source reports indicate that on 12 January, the carrier was operating near the Gulf of Suez, where training exercises were reportedly underway following the crash of an F-18 incident last December. This was further corroborated by the visit of US Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander Gen Michael Erik Kurilla, who toured the Harry S. Truman on the same day as part of its operations in the Red Sea.
